Bio/Description

David S. Lee is the Chemical Bank Chairman’s Professor of Economics and Public Affairs and the founder of IDEAS (Initiative for Data Exploration and AnalyticS) for Higher Ed. He served as Provost of Princeton University (2013-2017) and Director of Princeton’s Industrial Relations Section (2009-2013). Focusing on labor economics and econometrics, he has studied wage inequality, the impacts of unions on the labor market, job training, youth criminal behavior, the role of unemployment insurance on labor activities, and program evaluation methodologies. Professor Lee is currently a faculty research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and has previously held faculty appointments in economics at Harvard University, University of California at Berkeley, and Columbia University.
